Welcome from the CEO

The Rainbow Education MAT was established in 2014 to sponsor both Church of England and community schools. Schools joining the trust retain their unique identity: community schools do not convert to become Church of England primary schools. Within the trust, we have a mixed blend of community and faith-based schools working in harmony together.

We are an innovative group of schools, aiming to provide an excellent education to children across the Merseyside Region. Children only get one chance to receive a good education, and we firmly believe that each and every child deserves the best possible education there is!

Each of our schools has its own identity and culture, but shares the overall vision of encouraging our children and young people to reach their full potential. We seek to improve the life chances of all children that we serve by ensuring that each and every child achieves their maximum potential and is fully prepared to access the next stage of their education.

Why do we exist AND WHAT DO WE DO?

To ensure that each and every child, no matter what their background or their circumstances, reaches their potential and leaves us ready for the next stage of their life.

This vision goes far beyond securing strong academic outcomes; it is about embracing the principle of equity, meaning we dedicate resources, attention, and tailored support to remove any barriers that circumstance might impose. We believe in the holistic development of each and every child, fostering their intellectual curiosity, building their character, and nurturing the social and emotional resilience necessary for them to succeed in an ever-changing world. When we talk about flourishing, we mean child leaves our schools with deep knowledge alongside the confidence, agency, and vital human skills to contribute positively to society.

We do this through living out our mission statement every single day:

At the Rainbow, we flourish together as we listen, learn, lead , lift and love.

How do we behave?

EXCELLENCE - WISDOM - FRIENDSHIP - TRUST - ENDURANCE

Our Trust culture is built upon five foundational and interwoven values, guiding every decision we make and every interaction we have. Excellence is our commitment to the pursuit of the highest standards, meaning we have the highest expectations of ourselves and others. This is not about perfection, but about continuous improvement, rigour, and ensuring every member of our community—staff and children alike—strives to deliver their very best work. This ambition is powered by Wisdom, which underpins our belief that we are always learning. We cultivate an intellectually curious environment where every challenge is seen as an opportunity for growth, recognising that true knowledge comes from reflection, collaboration, and adapting our practice in light of new evidence. Furthermore, we value Friendship and Trust, requiring that we are kind and honest with one another. This fosters psychological safety, allowing for constructive professional challenge and open communication, ensuring that we support each other ethically and without reservation. Finally, Endurance defines our resilience, reminding us that we keep going even when things are tough. This value is the cornerstone of character development, teaching our community the importance of perseverance, grit, and optimism when navigating complexity, ensuring that we never lose sight of our long-term mission to secure success for each and every child.

HOW WILL WE SUCCEED?

1. People First

2. Better Everyday

3. Children and Families at the Centre

4. Stronger Together

5. No Excuses

Our Trust's operational ethos and strategic decision-making are directed by our five fundamental Guiding Principles that ensure our actions always align with our mission, vision and values. Firstly, People First affirms our core belief that we value, support, and invest in our people — they are the heart of our success. We understand that exceptional outcomes for children depend entirely on the competence, well-being, and capacity of our staff, making their development our highest priority. This is closely connected to Better Every Day, where we strive every day to be better than yesterday, learning, growing, and evolving. This principle drives continuous incremental improvement, fostering a culture of self-reflection and professional excellence across the entire organisation. Above all, Children and Families at the Centre is non-negotiable: every decision we make starts with what’s best for the children and families we serve. This ensures our focus is always external, focused on impact, and responsive to the needs of the different communities we serve. This impact is amplified by Stronger Together, the principle that we believe in the power of collaboration, shared purpose, and collective strength. By working as a unified entity across multiple schools, we leverage our shared expertise to solve complex problems and provide consistency of opportunity. Finally, No Excuses is our commitment to accountability: we take responsibility, remove barriers, and never settle for excuses. This means proactively addressing challenges, focusing on solutions rather than blaming circumstances, and ensuring every member of the Trust is empowered to deliver on our promise to each and every child.

“Leaders, including representatives of the trust, have been highly successful in turning the fortunes of this school around. As a result, pupils enjoy a good quality of education, and they can learn in an environment free from poor behaviour. Pupils emerge as well-rounded young people who are ready for the next stage of their education."

What is most important right now?

To ensure that children with SEND and other vulnerable pupils thrive — by securing readiness for the next stage of education and firm foundations for learning, because when we get it right for those who need school the most, we get it right for everyone.

To pursue sustainable growth that strengthens our family of schools and delivers a lasting impact for the communities we serve.
